For years I have watched couples walk into a courthouse to get married. When I asked why they did not want a special ceremony for such an important time in their lives, many of them told me they simply did not know who to ask, or they did not have a home church, or they were turned away by others for various reasons. Some of them cited finances as their hindrance.
I believe marriage is more than a simple contract between a man and a woman. A contract has an end date. A covenant is permanent. Marriage is a sacred covenant made between a husband and wife and God. God chose covenant as a way of relating to His people. It is the most sacred of all pledges and promises.
In Matthew 19:4-6 we read the words of Jesus, “Haven’t you read that the Creator made them male and female in the beginning and that he said, ‘That’s why a man will leave his father and mother and will remain united with his wife, and the two will be one’? So they are no longer two but one. Therefore, don’t let anyone separate what God has joined together.”
One of my passions is to see a married couple start off their marriage set for success. ‘Simply Wed’ was formed out of a desire to see couples unite in holy matrimony before God, honoring one another, honoring God, and honoring their marriage covenant. I do not charge a set fee for Simply Wed. We also offer vow renewal ceremonies if this is something you would be interested in.
